It sounds like they've built a hybrid that's optimal for an awful lot of climates, grows as fast and spreads as aggressively as kudzu, and can produce fruit without any help at all.

In answer to that question at the end, I have only one answer: "Develop a lot of new recipes for figs."

I wonder if it's as frost-sensitive as most of genus Ficus? Given how it handles all the other environmental factors, I'm going to guess it's frost hardy as well.
