I Have Opened A Patreon

Dear All,

I have opened a Patreon campaign.

The point of it is to encourage me to write longer works meant for (self) publication from their inception.

Nai will remain free to read on Live Journal and I intend to have monthly prompt requests again. These will remain available for everyone to prompt for but certain levels of Patreon subscriber/patron will get a story of their choice automatically extended each month and some will get to vote on whether there will be a theme and what it will be.

Certain levels of subscriber/patron will also be subject to my ebook making experiments....

If you are interested, please come over and have a look.

Potential Patreon

I am considering putting myself on Patreon as a creator and I'm trying to get some idea of what people would be interested in seeing from me in response to pledges.

I am asking the following questions on the understanding that Nai will not be locked content but my wind up as an ebook. Or series of ebooks - I can dream.

Please answer these questions in the comments and thank you for your participation:

1. Would you expect Patreon exclusive content?

2. Would you like Patreon exclusive content?

3. Would you prefer monthly or per item pledges - assuming a maximum limit on the number of items per month?

4. What sort of items would you like to see from me?

5. I currently post on LJ. Becoming a Patreon creator would probably involve me posting there. Is there anywhere else you think I should post e.g. own website, Dreamwidth, Tumblr, etc.

Thank you again for your participation.

Advice Please re Patreon

I am looking at putting myself on Patreon.  To do this I need to make achievable and realistic promises to potential patrons. I currently have three projects that I've started in the 'free to air' space that I don't want to put behind a pay wall.

I also have a fourth project that I've been plotting, a bit and, theoretically, a fifth project which is something sitting at the back of my head that I've been thinking, "I must get around to doing something with that".

Plus things like Thimbleful Thursdays and Prompt Requests.

I'm thinking of asking for payment by the publically available piece with increased minimum word count levels for patrons in Prompt Requests and project four coming out for patron's eyes only.

Does anyone who uses Patreon in any way have any comments or other constructive advice?
