This is the second part of my formatting experiment, and it runs to 680 words.

Year1, Semester 1, Day-3

Elidor spent the day finalising and updating her paperwork with the university then getting the textbooks and other study supplies that she needed.  Textbooks were more expensive than she'd expected, but Great-Uncle Cadrick has surprised her with an unexpected financial boost.  "I know what you're doing," he'd said, "and I approve." It had given her an increased respect for her family head's resources, and she wondered whether her Aunt Albidor knew what he had at his fin=ger tips.  She also wondered why her great uncle didn't pull her aunt into line.

Great uncle had also given her the contact details of a removalist who had discretely organised what Elidor thought of as a 'stealth removal' that had gotten her belongings from 47 Haimash Street to her new location half a continent away without anyone realising that a removal had occurred.  Hus services had been worth every senim.

She'd started stocking her kitchen too, you never noticed what you had tucked away in the pantry until it wasn't there when you reached for it.  Elidor had date checked everything before she moved and a lot of partly used jars and packets had gone into the garbage bin.  This time she bought smaller sizes.  In the course of this activity she'd run into P. Usagi on the stairs.  He was a fair-haired rabbit boy with grey ears and a not displeasing or unsettling mix of human and rabbit features.  He didn't wear the bead hair strings of formal adulthood, so 'rabbit boy' was at least technically accurate, but Elidor thought he looked a little old not to have taken on the formal trappings of adulthood yet.  They had briefly introduced themselves. but Peadar, that was what the P. stood for, hadn't wanted to stand around chatting.  From his accoutrements Elidor surmised that she'd caught him coming home from sword practice or a sword work lesson.  For what other reason would he be carrying an arm-length blade over his back?

Sensor readings indicate the continued presence of the unknown member of House Skarmord.  No hostile actions detected.  No awareness of the sensors has been detected.  Movement analysis suggests this individual is establishing a personal residence for an unknown period.  Passive scanning continues.

Hi,

Got your email about the party next week.  Can't make it because classes will have started.  It's a pity, but there you are.  Give everyone my best and have a great time.

Met my new upstairs neighbour on the stairs today.  Seems nice.  Pretty enough for a straight sapiens, and female.  First time I've understood Elder Grandfather's comment, "You can tell the highborn by their scent." This one's got a scent that gets into your hindbrain - it's quite odd and it's not a body odour.  She's also got odd skin, aside from the fact she doesn't have fur, because it's like the top layer is translucent.  Not that you can see her blood vessels or anything, so it's not transparent, but you feel like you can see how deep her freckles go.  Really weird, but like I said, she seems nice.

I'm keeping up my lessons at the dojo, starting the serious work towards my next test now.
