Here we are back again after what seems to have been a few weeks of near hibernation and not much typing. It was the shortest day of the year here three days ago, and that was accompanied by what felt like an Antarctic air mass.

Finmauw has gathered a little more information, but she isn't ready to leave town just yet.

The food having been eaten and the difficult conversation had, Finmauw introduced Longmorn Ironsson to the Marshal of Archery as Raithard Ironsson's brother. She also explained that she had been hired to find another of Raithard's group and so was asking whether any of the party, Raithard and Avair included, had said or acquired anything in the Guild before they left that could give her a clue as to where they were going or what they were going to do.

Now that Part 3 of my prompt serial has been posted, it's time to ask for more prompts.

Finmauw still has several things to do before she can leave the city, and one of them is her task for Mr Straun.

I am requesting prompts about:

Who might attach themselves to Finmauw's expedition at some point;
Family members related to a deceased person whose building was sold to Mr Straun;
A member of the watch/constabulary/runner type organisation who gets called in to witness something; and
Sundry persons who might be summoned on a matter of unfortunate official business.

Prompts will close at 5:00pm on Tuesday, 4 June 24 Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10), so this may be Monday for some of you.

Finmauw looked from Zamberey to Milld and back again. "A new Adventurers' Guild official took me out of my team, put in a replacement, and then sent the five of them off on an out of city assignment. I was forbidden to join or follow my friends and their new associate. The assignment was supposed to take three weeks. It's been six. They aren't back and haven't sent word. Someone has hired me to find one of my friends." She took a deep breath and went on. "As I expect to get very little time with the official who had me replaced and sent my friends out to wherever, I want to make my questions count. One of my missing friends is Alladel Deboraiscasi who has a physical counterpart who I understand is an associate of yours." The two men glanced at each other. "While asking other people if my friends told them where they were going, it was suggested that in their travels someone might have taken advantage of an opportunity to grab Alladel for," Finmauw grimaced slightly, "exotic collection purposes. It also occurred to me that if Alladel had returned to the city and didn't want to be found, then if she based herself in this area, no-one in her normal haunts would think twice about reports of a human-cat hybrid coming from here."

Part 2 of my prompt serial. Our protagonist, one Finmauw by name, is making that she's dotted as many i's and crossed as many t's as she can before she leaves the city in search of her friends and the party member that replaced her in their group. That quest is leading her to some...interesting places.

The population of Gallowsshadow would best be described as somewhat goblinoid, this being a description of the individuals, not just the population as a whole. Unless you were around Frumenty Lane and Green Mare Court, in which case the other contributing bloodline was bullywoggle. As many have said over the centuries, both more crudely and more eruditely, you can always find a human somewhere who will happily breed with any other race.

Finmauw had liked being part of a team. What she hadn't liked was the way she'd been removed from it - Master Tyroque, the Adventurers' Guild's new Assignments Master had told her, in front of everyone in the Assignment Room, that he couldn't see what she added to her team and he was taking her off it. When she and her teammates had protested, he'd pointed out that they weren't a registered team but one thrown together by the previous Assignments Master to answer a need, and thus the team's composition was indeed up to him. The penalties for her "happening" to catch up with them after they'd left on the assignment had been made plain to them, so Finmauw had watched her four closest friends leave the Guild House with their new fifth member to do whatever job it was that Master Tyroque had given them.
